As a boutique executive search firm, we specialize in off-market, confidential, direct hire opportunities for exceptional individuals looking to advance their career in accounting, finance, marketing, and sales roles primarily in southern California. We make purposeful introductions that are in alignment with both the candidate's career goals and our client's search criteria.  We've worked with clients in just about every industry including real estate, hospitality, professional services, financial services, entertainment, technology, startup/early stage, medical devices, life sciences, and consumer products. Our typical client has revenues between 5M and 150M and is located in greater Los Angeles, Orange, or Ventura counties.  Our most common placement is a Controller, Director of VP of Finance, or CFO, with a range from the mid-senior to C-level.  Professional experience stems from many years working in human resources on the employer side, with diverse companies and individuals across various industries, including Fortune 500, public, private, non-profit, and startup companies.

Our typical candidate is currently employed, passively looking for the next challenge in their career, with 5 to 15 years of experience, and excellent stability. Over the past several years we've developed a network of "off-market" passive candidates that rarely surface during a typical search, many of whom have now become our top clients.

BRETT FISHER, MBA

FOUNDER / SEARCH CONSULTANT

 

Brett is a management consultant, executive recruiter, and network connector, born and raised in Los Angeles.  Long before Brett interviewed candidates for his clients, he auditioned musicians and performers for live theatrical productions.  Live theatre has always been a passion for Brett, having received his undergraduate degree in music education and conducting.

After graduating from UCLA, Brett spent two years in New York City.  While there, he worked for Richard Frankel Productions, a well-known commercial theatre production and general management company.  In 2002, Brett resumed studies at The University of Southern California in arts management and developed an extensive five-year business plan for the Santa Monica Civic Light Opera (SMCLO), a community producing partner to Santa Monica High School's Theatre program.  Brett's vision led to many notable productions, including bringing two complete summer tours of SMCLO's professional productions to Avalon's Casino Theatre on Catalina Island.  In 2006, Brett was named General Manger for the Rubicon Theatre Company in Ventura, CA.  Brett's work in Ventura contributed to many Ovation-nominated productions, including Back Home Again, a John Denver Holiday Concert, The Diary of Anne Frank, and Hamlet.

Brett's depth of experience in building teams (both on and off stage) comes from working in two different non profit organizations prior to forming the Brett Fisher Group (BFG) in 2008, a business entity that pulls together an extensive network of talented and experienced professionals.  Since 2008, BFG has successfully placed top talent with backgrounds in accounting, finance, sales, marketing, human resources, and administrative professionals throughout greater Los Angeles.  With carefully-selected clients in his portfolio, BFG only looks to make "purposeful matches" of candidates to his clients, understanding that a successful long-term relationship with both his candidates and clients, is ultimately what brings his team great satisfaction.

Playing with my twins, Ella and Ethan, and newborn Brayden, watching them grow so fast, and developing into little people!

One of my favorite places to go in L.A. is;
LAX, leaving on an international trip!

One piece of advice for candidates:
Be nice, be responsive, and pay it forward. You never know who's going to open the door you need to get to where you want to go.
